Entering the Clover Ridge neighborhood April 24, I was passed by a SUV with a pink and white plastic playhouse perched on top.

Yes. It was once again time for the 24th annual Jonathan Festival of Garage Sales.

The sales, organized by St. Andrew West Lutheran Church, are a great barometer of trends and technology.

So it's almost time for Sinatra week on Idol. Despite it being a minefield for criticism about being old-fashioned, the standards theme has also provided some really memorable performances in past seasons of Idol. These are the songs that form the backbone of American music today, so it's important to pay tribute to them. This is one Idol theme I have no desire to see retired.

Harry Connick, Jr. will not only guide the contestants this week, but word on the street is that he will also be arranging the songs and orchestrations for them. Can I get a Hallelujah??

Country night came kind of late in this season which meant we missed out on that moment where a contestant realizes their true calling is not hip-hop, but good ol' country and western. That might have happened for Katie Stevens, were she still around, but alas, she's gone and so it was just another ho-hum night of blasé performances. Can we just crown Crystal already and call it a season???

This week's FREE Boot Camp Workout Video is the final workout for this training phase of boot camp. We've been getting after it hard & heavy with 30:30s. Our primary focus has been on hypertrophy training (muscle growth). We've selecting extra heavy weights with a goal of achieving 6 – 15 reps, and both our online boot camp members and Chanhassen boot camp members have been loving it!

Believe it or not, "Songs of Inspiration" didn't suck nearly as much as anticipated. This crop of contestants, which I have little hope of choosing clever songs during a decent theme week, actually surprised somewhat during a week who's theme was the equivalent of dodging steaming cowpies in a crowded pasture. Sure, there were some real groaners - "I Believe I Can Fly" really Aaron? Really?

Last year we didn't have to endure the sapfest that is Idol Gives Back. This year, we won't be so lucky. To cap it off, the Idols will be singing inspirational schlock. Is anyone actually looking forward to this theme? Warning: If I hear "Wind Beneath My Wings" by anyone, I'm turning off the television. The bad memories of that song ending every junior high dance I ever attended, are still far too strong. So what would I like to hear the contestants sing? Well, I've perused the 77-song list on iTunes and my suggestions follow (Thank you for asking).
