Hi Everyone!

Ahh the weather is finally nice, the waters finally receded. I know your itching to do something outside and perhaps something a little different then what you usually do.

If that is the case then you have to head out to Belle Plaine. They will be having the 2nd annual Mountain Men Rendezvous on May 1st and May 2nd between the hours of 9am and 5pm. It will be held North Park, which is on North Cedar Street. If you go, here is a chance to bring a picnic basket (or you can buy food and drink there) and have a nice outing with your family in this lovely town park. Near by the rendezvous, is a picnic area with a playground

Here you will get a chance to see how the first pioneers (the fur trappers) really lived. They will be reenacting a Mountain Men Rendezvous that they had in the mid 1800’s. They will have exhibits, demonstrations. (Tomahawk throwing) games for the kids (Games that the kids played in the 1800’s) and venders will be there so you can buy things. >>>>(Shhhh…..don’t tell the kids that they are learning something….just let them have fun)

This year they have a number of really interesting prized that will raffling off on May 2nd.
Here is a chance to have fun and learn something new.

I was there last year and I was quite impressed with what they had and demonstrated and they had artifacts from around the area. If you are interested in history this is a must to go to. I had a wonderful time.
