City of Chaska Property Taxes UP

» Read similar stories filed under:

This week I recevied my 2011 Property Tax estimate from Carver County.

As I knew would happen my house lost about 10% of its value...second year in a row.
All of my taxes, Carver County, School District went down.
The only tax that went up was the City of Chaska.

I find it dissapointing that are current City Council and Mayor find it OK to keep increasing fees...water rates, Chaska.net, Golf Course rates etc and a possible gas franchise fee.

The Mayor and Council need to stop wasteful spending and look at ways to cut. Today the Federal Government stated that the unemployment rate would stay at 9.7% through 2011 only until then will we see that number begin to decrease. People are hurting and cannot have more taxesa and fees.

Our elected Chaska leaders need to address this spending issue. It seems that all is taken lightly at council meetings and no one cares.

Well I for one will be voting in November and looking for candidates that can be fiscally responsible with the people's money.

I agree, the city leaders...

I agree, the city leaders all appear to be wasteful, corrupt AND/OR have COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISREGARD for residents AND businesses.

I smell change in the air....and it smells good.
