Cubs find home at Target Field

» Read similar stories filed under:

When the Twins take bat against St. Louis in their new home, Target Field, tonight, fans will also be able to experience a little bit of Chaska ball.

The Town Ball Pub, on the main concourse of the new stadium, is a tribute to local Minnesota baseball.

According to a recent city newsletter, the pub will include an enlarged print of Terry Fogarty’s “Summer Anthem,” which features Chaska’s Athletic Park, home to the Cubs.

“The painting has a prominent place near the entrance of the pub,” states the city newsletter. “In addition to honoring Athletic Park, the Chaska Cubs are also working with the Minnesota Twins to display several more articles of memorabilia, including a team jersey, for display in the new ballpark.”

“The city of Chaska and the Chaska Cubs Baseball Association sincerely thank the Minnesota Twins for honoring town baseball, as it is such a strong part of Minnesota’s history, and particularly for honoring Athletic Park with this permanent exhibit,” states the newsletter.
