How to Get 6-Pack Abs Without Crunches or Sit-ups
Face it- we all want a flat, sexy midsection. But for many of us no amount of crunches or sit-ups seems to get the job done. I can’t tell you how many times people have asked me the following questions:

“I do all kinds of crunches and sit-ups every day and I still have a flabby midsection. What's the deal?”

Well, before I reveal your six-pack abs blueprint, let’s first debunk some very important myths about how to get six-pack abs:

Chaska Obscura: An 1852 adventure up the St. Peter's

Who: This letter is lacking a last page and signature, but the handwriting matches other letters in the Fuller family archive sent by Sarah Fuller, in Minnesota, to her twin sister Elizabeth Fuller, living on the east coast. The twins were the sisters of land speculators David, George and Albert Fuller, who purchased the townsite of Chaska in spring 1852. In April 1857, George (who bought out his brothers’ shares) sold the property for $60,000, setting the stage for the next 150 years of Chaska development. Sarah died in 1900 in Connecticut.

American Idol 2010: The Top 24 ready for their closeups

I was on the fence over whether or not to blog about American Idol again this season. Believe it or not, it's a fair amount of work to tackle on Tuesday and Wednesday nights week after week. I didn't know if I had it in me (especially with the final season of Lost airing on Tuesday nights as well). Then I got a call from Tina Lushington.

Do you judge a book by its barcode?

When I was at the Friends of the Chaska Library book sale today at Chaska City Hall, I spotted not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE book buyers using those little barcode scanners.

The digital readers relay how much a book is worth. Each one was purchasing books for resale on the Internet, or to bring to a used bookstore. (That is, unless they are reading books based on their resale value – the same way someone might purchase a car.)

Are newspapers shrinking?

Pull out that commemorative newspaper gathering dust in the closet. You know the one – “Germany surrenders,” “Ventura elected governor,” “New Coke introduced” – and you’ll discover that, yes, newspapers are smaller today, with narrower pages.

The Obama President's Day Workout Routine

Regardless of your political views, one thing that has always struck me about President Barack Obama is his relentless daily workout routine. He plays a ton of basketball and puts in his 45-60 minute workout day in and day out. He claims it sets the tone for his entire day- that it gives him the energy he needs to grapple with the world’s problems.

Author: Unknown

Published: This anonymous essay was found in Guardian Angels Catholic Church archives, and reprinted in the church’s 150th anniversary booklet.

When: Pre-1941, when the clock was modernized, eliminating the need for it to be hand-wound. The clock has been updated a few times in the last century, most recently in 2006 when an electronic carillon was added.
