A Ghost Where I Work

Some times when a person moves into a new apartment or a new home, if there is a spirit in there, they usually reveal themselves to the new tenants within a few weeks.
Note the key word here is sometimes. It depends on the motive of the spirit.

This is also true for your place of employment.

I just started a temporary, part time job a few weeks ago and I discovered that they have at least one ghost there. I wasn’t expecting it, nor was I looking for a spirit. In fact this is just the second place that I worked for that had a spirit in it. The first place with a spirit in it was at a movie theater in Buffalo, where I cleaned after hours. There I saw a man running across the room to the exit door. When I went to tell my boss that there was a man in the theater, he just told me not to worry about it and to clean up the room. I was upset about his nonchalant attitude so I went to check out the theater, investigating each location where he may have tried to hide, through this time I kept holding my broom like a bat. I did not find anyone and while I cleaned the room I was quite puzzled about it. (This was before I started ghost hunting) It wasn’t until break time that I found out from the other ladies that the particular theater was haunted and they all have seen him. Since that first “meeting” I would see him from time to time in there.

Let me tell you what is happening at my place of work and the reason as to why I believe that there is a spirit there.

I can’t say exactly what I am doing; however, I can say that I am working at a call center. The first few days I was concentrating on doing my job right and learning what I needed to do to accomplish my work. But the second week I started noticing someone walking behind me, but when I would turn around, no one would be there. At first I thought it was a trick of the eye of perhaps it was a person passing by a window and casting a shadow. As I became more comfortable with my work, I started to pay attention to my surroundings and I was able to rule out someone passing by a window or light source to cast the shadow. Interesting, I thought, but still didn’t pay it much mind. Sometimes I would hear noises coming from the office behind me, but no one would be in there. That is another Hummm minute but once again, I didn’t pay it much mind because noise has a tendency to bounce around and the noise could have originated from the other side of the room and bounced into the office. None of these things add up to a spirit at work. However, what happened at work this last week I could not ignore or logically explain it away.

I had just called a customer and started to read my script, when I saw out of the corner of my eye, someone standing beside me. They were so solid that they partly blocked the sight of the lady across the “street”. I didn’t think much of it at first because the calls only lasts 3 minutes at the most and if they wanted me they could wait until I got off the phone. I got to the part of my script where I had to ask the questions and jot down the answers on the computer when I saw that this person bend down at put their head next to mine and was reading or watching what I was doing as I typed. I thought how rude to interrupt me as I was on a call like that. I quickly finished my call and turned to see what the person wanted and there was no one was there. I looked around and everyone was in their place and there wasn’t a supervisor around. Hummm I thought. Then I asked the guy beside me if he knew who was standing by me just now and she said he didn’t see anyone. I figured he must have been on a call any didn’t notice. So I asked the lady across the way, I knew she had been moving around, as I could see that she was even though the shadow had blocked her partly until he put his head by mine. She said that no one was standing by me. Another hummmm minute.

Thursday was a very quiet day at work, more so then usual. As I was working I heard a woman whisper near me “They don’t ------us” I didn’t hear that word. I quickly looked around to see who may have said that and I didn’t see anyone. Once again sound may have traveled so I ignored it, even though it sounded much like the many evps I have gotten over the years. Friday was the last straw though. As I was working, something banged in my cubie so hard that the stuff on my desk rattled. I stood up right away to see if anyone was near my cubie. I knew the guy beside me didn’t do it as he was on a call and the sound came from the front of me. No one was in the cubie in front of me or in the isle “street”. This was a BIG hummmmm minute.

A ghost at work had never crossed my mind. The building is on the newer side also it has not been a home, however, there are homes in the area. The work is a high stress job which I can see some spirits living off this energy that is given off by the employees.

Is there a ghost at my work? I suspect that there may be one or two. Regretfully, I am not able to bring in any recorders or cameras to check it out. I will have to pay attention to other employees to see if they too are experiencing anything strange while they are working.
