  • On the safe side

    Smokey Bear and McGruff the Crime Dog keep an eye on the masses on Thursday during Safety Camp in Firemen's Park, sponsored by the Chaska Police Department. The two-day camp attracted over 100 third- and fourth-graders, who met with the Minnesota State Patrol, lifeguards, Chaska firefighters, EMTs and a multitude of other safety groups.


  • Rapt attention

    Michael Billington holds Maxime, an 11-year-old bald eagle, at the Chaska Library on July 19. The University of Minnesota Raptor Center presentation was part of the Summer Reading Program’s “Make a Splash at Your Library.” The show also featured a Red-Tailed Hawk, an American Kestrel, and a Great Horned Owl.
