  • Lounging in the cattle barn

    The 4-H represents Carver County in the Minnesota State Fair cattle barn. Pictured are a couple county cows lounging around on Sunday morning.


  • Historical dedication of historical marker

     

    Carver County is holding a dedication for the 1938 roadside historical marker at 11 a.m., Aug. 31. The marker was restored to its original appearance by MnDOT in a $170,000 project last year. It is owned by Carver County, was recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s located west of downtown. Those attending the ceremony should park in the adjacent Public Works parking lot.


  • Chaske Cikala Wacipi

    Littlewing Miller, of St. Paul, who is Mdewakanton Dakota, participates in in Chaske Cikala Wacipi or "Little Dance in Chaska" on Saturday afternoon. The event, in McKnight Park, represented a wide variety of American Indian cultures, from Mexica tribes in the south to Ojibwa tribes in the north. (More photos from the event will be posted later this week.)


  • Ready to knock them down

    Sam Elliott, 8, of Carver, prepares to knock down the pins during a bowling game at Chaska's annual Touch a Truck event on Thursday evening. Hundreds of parents and youngsters crowded the Chaska Community Center parking lot to get a close look at the city's street sweepers, fire trucks and other machines. There was also free music, food and games.
