Guilty verdict in drug-induced death case

Carver County Attorney Jim Keeler today announced the conviction of Anthony Joseph Aunan, 38, for the October 23, 2007 death of his girlfriend in Chaska, Minnesota.

Aunan, a former heroin addict, was enrolled in a methadone treatment program. Methadone is a powerful synthetic narcotic used therapeutically to quell cravings for heroin.

Belle Plaine police officer faces charges in motorcycle accident

A Belle Plaine police officer has been charged with three counts of criminal vehicular operation, a gross misdemeanor, and two counts of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor.

The Carver County Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday that charges had been filed against Richard Olsen. The 40-year-old was driving on County Road 40 in Carver County on July 26 when he allegedly lost control of his motorcycle.

LuAllen Kettner will face misdemeanor charges for allegedly hitting and killing a construction worker in Carver earlier this year.

Leo Kuisle, 47 of Stewartville, died when Kettner’s Ford Excursion reportedly struck him as he was attempting to control traffic near the intersection of Mount Hope Road and Chaska Boulevard. The incident occurred on May 15 around 7 a.m.

The former executive director for the Chaska Area Chamber of Commerce has been charged with felony theft.

Carver County Attorney Jim Keeler filed six felony and two misdemeanor charges against Jacquelina (Jacqi) Hellendrung on Tuesday. Theft charges include false representation and using property without consent.



Chaska man sentenced for fatal traffic accident

Jacob Thomas Victor, 26, of Chaska was sentenced to one year in jail for two counts of felony criminal vehicular operation resulting in two deaths, according to a press release from Carver County Attorney Jim Keeler.

“We argued for a sentence of eight years in prison for these crimes. We are disappointed by the judge’s decision,” said Keeler. Assistant Carver County Attorney Peter Ivy argued to the court for prison time for Victor, the release stated. Judge Philip Kanning presided over the case.

According to a press release from the United States Attorney's Office a Chaska woman was sentenced today in federal court in connection with a money laundering scheme involving the theft of more than $2.5 million from the clients of her real estate closing company.

Molly L. Heise, 50, was sentenced to 70 months in prison and three years supervised release Aug. 19 in Minneapolis by United States District Court Judge John R. Tunheim.
