John Brandel, 67, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at home with family at his side, ending his 23-month battle with Melanoma Cancer.

Derek Fenton did something that i disagree with. He did something stupid. He burned a koran (or pages of a koran) at Ground Zero. An act done by a citizen that is protected by the US Constitution. His friends, family and neighbors call him a nice guy who is a wonderful father. His employer, New Jersey Transit, summarily fired Derek Fenton.

Scott County Attorney Pat Ciliberto has found that the Aug. 5 shooting of 17-year-old Joey Carl by Duluth Police Officer Jeffery Keast was justified.
Ciliberto was asked to review the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigation of the shooting to avoid any conflict of interest.
