Scoreboard

By Richard Crawford
In addition to recounts for the gubernatorial and District 112 school board races, you can also add a Carver County Board seat to the recount mix. Bruce Schwichtenberg has requested a recount of the District 5 election, according to his wife, Darlene.
Incumbent Jim Ische received 3,375 votes to Schwichtenberg’s 2,614 in the election. Because the margin of victory is not within state parameters, public funds won’t be used for the county board recount.

Since purchasing the landmark Waconia ballroom property and deciding to help keep the event center open, Carver County experienced challenges getting the septic system up to par.
But a plan approved last year to regularly pump the septic tank, rather than using the drainfield on the property, has alleviated that problem.
Lancer Hospitality, the firm hired by the county to run Waconia Event Center, has been managing events ranging from weddings to concerts to conferences.

It’s a week before Thanksgiving, and many of the warehouse shelves at the Bountiful Basket food shelf in Chaska are empty. Julie Falkenstein, volunteer coordinator, looked up at the stacks of empty storage boxes on the top shelves. They should be full of nonperishable food items, but they’re not.
And yet the demand keeps growing.

The latest Chaska Police Department's 411 newsletter reported this news of the weird.
"During a routine driver’s license check, an officer learned a male had numerous active arrest warrants.
"The male denied his identity and gave a false name to the officer. However, the officer did not believe him due to one simple fact. The male had his name tattooed on his arm, which was visible to the officer.
