The razor thin margin of victory in the state’s gubernatorial race is expected to extend this year’s election at least into December.
After the votes were counted across the state in the general election, DFLer Mark Dayton had an 8,856 vote lead over Republican Tom Emmer. The margin is within parameters that allow a publically funded recount.
Russell Wildermuth, 55, of Waconia, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010.

How about planning a “Big Whopping Wedding” for 50 couples?
Talk to Kris Howland at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, and she’ll run down a mind-boggling to-do list that would have put the most seasoned wedding planner to the test: Guest list. Flowers. Wedding cake. Music. Catering. Wedding attendants’ attire. Photography. Getting everyone to the wedding on time.
Now multiply by 50.

It is Chaska’s most celebrated and reproduced landmark. Tens of thousands of commuters drive past it every day.
Yet few know City Square Park like Richard Kochenash.
The park has been the subject of many of his paintings. “The whole town park is such a beautiful gem,” said Kochenash, a Chaska resident and professional artist.

While many District 112 residents were surprised at Tim Klein’s election to one of the five open school board seats, no one was more surprised than Klein himself.
“I was in shock when I was told the news because I did not fathom I would win,” he said. “I thought I’d get a few hundred, maybe a thousand votes, but not enough to win.”
Klein ended up with 4,470 votes, a number that propelled him into the school board position.
