“Change” was on the minds of many last year as politicians threw the word around like a hot potato.
While most politicians may be done talking about change, the Rev. Gordon Stewart, from Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church in Chaska, is not.
“This is a historical period of major shifts everywhere you turn,” he said. “We need to take a look at those shifts – see where we’re going, where we’ve been, where we want to go.”
The 57th annual Chaska American Legion Auxiliary Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 11 in Chaska’s City Square Park. Toddlers will line up along Fourth Street. Children ages 4 and 5 will line up along Walnut Street side; 6 and 7-year-olds should line up along Third Street; and 8 to 10-year-olds along Chestnut Street (Highway 41). Prizes will be awarded to the finder of the “Golden Egg” in each age group. A hat parade will follow the egg hunt. (File photo by Mollee Francisco)

Thomas Spargo’s mission started small.
The Chaska teen invited a few friends on the social-networking giant Facebook to join a group supporting the idea of hosting the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Twin Cities. One hundred people signed up the first day.
To go or not to go - that is the question, as the Chaska Civic
Theatre brings its “Hamlet” spoof to Dahlgreen Golf Club.
“Something’s Rotten in the State of Denmark” will open at
Dahlgreen on Friday, Feb. 13. It runs for eight weekend performances through
March 7.
“It’s a frolically hilarious romp with Hamlet,” explained
director JoAnn Schindler. The show is a farce of Shakespeare’s tragic play
about the Danish prince who exacts revenge on his murderous uncle.
It started innocently enough. Jerry Fischer, working his way through school with a part-time job at Bachman’s, began bringing home orchids.
“He started collecting them and growing them in a windowsill,” related son Jason Fischer.
Here's some video from Saturday's ice fishing contest. Enjoy!
Eyes watered, noses dripped and skin lost its feeling, but despite freezing temperatures, the masses flocked to Firemen’s Lake Saturday to take part in the Chaska Fire Department’s annual fishing contest.
With more than nine inches of ice already covering Firemen’s Lake in downtown Chaska, there should be little doubt as to whether or not this year’s annual ice fishing contest will take place on the ice Saturday. But there is.
