A man was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing Highway 41 in downtown Chaska on Wednesday morning.
Just after 7 a.m., Dec. 3, Jerome Meuwissen, 86, of Chaska, was walking, east to west, at the southerly crosswalk (the Dunn Bros. side of the intersection).
A drug dog sweep of the Chaska High School student parking lot on Nov. 21 resulted in the alleged discovery of six student vehicles containing marijuana and illegal contraband.
“The students involved face criminal and school consequences and have lost their privilege to park at the Chaska High School,” said Chaska Police Chief Scott Knight in his weekly e-mail newsletter.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a $500 cash reward for information regarding a U.S. Post Office mailbox that was burned over the weekend.
According to a press release, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday outside of the Chaska Post Office at the corner of Third and Pine streets.
The city of Chaska and the Chaska Police Department were recently given national recognition, and an award, for establishing Minnesota’s first Social Host ordinance.The ordinance makes it illegal to provide a venue for underage drinking.
The award was given by the “Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws Program,” operated by the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center.
The center is a nationally based organization, funded by grants from the federal Office of Juvenile Justice Programs, according to a Chaska Police Department press release.
A former Jonathan Association employee is facing theft charges after she allegedly stole more than $9,000 from the large homeowner’s group.
Kimberly Ferrari, 37, of Chaska, was charged with two counts of felony theft by the Carver County Attorney’s Office Monday. She was employed as the Association’s bookkeeper from 2005 to 2007.
Details about an alleged brutal assault that took place in Chaska’s Brandondale neighborhood last week are being revealed, as the Carver County Attorney’s Office pursues charges against a Chaska teen accused of beating a man with a pipe, resulting in his death.
A Chaska man has passed away after sustaining injuries in an assault last week.
Kirk Thomas Anderson, 33, died at Hennepin County Medical Center on Saturday afternoon.
A 16-year-old male was arrested in connection with the assault. According to a press release, the teenage boy is the only suspect in the case and lived in the same residence as Anderson.
