The second annual Cologne Academy Spring Fling is Saturday, April 24.

The event is a fundraiser to raise money for improvements to a community playground, according to a press release.

The event is at the Cologne Academy and Cologne Community Center, 1221 South Village Parkway, Cologne.Because of high winds at last year’s Spring Fling, all the games will be inside except for the bounce houses (there will be four different bouncers for the kids).

A medallion hunt kicks it off with clues found at www.cologneacademy.org, throughout the month of April. The finder of the medallion will win a Visa gift card.

Festivities start at 9 a.m. with a 5K run. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. people can browse our vendor craft sale, enjoy the kid’s carnival and visit concession stands. New this year will be an Usborne Book Fair.

The event includes a business expo, silent auction, ongoing bingo, a visit from the Viking’s cheerleaders, karate and dance demonstrations and a T6 Thunder Flight Team fly-by.
