The Chaska Police Department issued this news release Friday afternoon:
This morning, a Chaska Middle School Student reported seeing a suspicious male parked near the bus stop in the Liberty Heights neighborhood.
The man was described as a white male with a dark complexion, about 5’6” to 5’7”, and having a stocky build. He was wearing a black baseball hat on backwards, a black and gray plaid jacket and black jeans.
A 28-year-old woman from Victoria lost her 4½-month-old fetus Saturday morning when the vehicle she was in was struck broadside by a pickup truck in Spring Lake Township, south of Prior Lake, according to the State Patrol.
Five students were arrested following a fight at Chaska High School Wednesday morning.
According to a Chaska Police newsletter, a fight broke out among nine male students around 8 a.m. in the high school commons area. One of the students allegedly had a knife, though no one reported any stabbing injuries.
According to police, minor injuries were sustained by a few of the students. Police are recommending charges of assault, riot and possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds.
A St. Louis Park man has been charged for bringing marijuana-laced brownies to his Chaska workplace.
Thirty-one-year-old Ali Teymouri is facing one count of adulterated/misbranded food, a misdemeanor carrying a penalty of 90 days in jail and/or $1,000.
According to the criminal complaint, Teymouri brought the "special" treat to work on March 3. Teymouri works at a realty firm located at 102 N. Chestnut Street in downtown Chaska. He allegedly placed them on the receptionist's desk where food is often left to be shared.
A Chaska man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night. The accident happened on County Road 61 (Chaska Boulevard) just after 4:30 p.m. It shut down traffic in both directions on County Road 61 for several hours.
Richard Raasch, 39, of Chaska, was pronounced dead on the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol is currently reconstructing the accident, but Chaska Police Sergeant Ben Anderson said “by all apparent accounts it appears Richard Raasch ended up pulling out in front of another vehicle.”
A 59-year-old Chaska man died in an early morning car crash Saturday in rural Carver County.
Authorities say Frederick Jack was traveling south on County Road 21 near Mayer in a Ford Ranger pick-up truck when he ran a stop sign and broadsided a Ford Explorer carrying two woman on Highway 7 about 2:26 a.m.
The driver of the other vehicle, 52-year-old Marilyn Smith of Lester Prairie, and her passenger, 52-year-old Karen Mickolichek of Winsted, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Chaska will receive more than $13,000 for law enforcement as part of the American Recovery and Reivestment Act. Carver County will get more than $30,000.
A Chaska man killed Wednesday morning in a crash on Highway 101 has been identified as William Mork, 43, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
According to the incident report, the man’s 2000 Honda Accord ran off the road near the Y intersection of Highway 101 and County Road 60 (former Highway 212). After the car left the roadway it struck a tree. The incident happened just after 10 a.m. Mork wasn't wearing a seat belt, the according to the report.
The Chaska Police Department is looking for an individual they believe was involved in a burglary and assault that occurred on Tuesday morning.
According to a press release, around 5 a.m. on Feb. 17, officers responded to a call from the Riverview Terrace Mobile Home Park.
“An adult female reported being grabbed from behind in her own home,” the release stated. “The suspect then put a rag soaked in purple PVC cement to her face.”
State traffic safety officials are urging arm-chair quarterbacks to make the right call on Super Bowl Sunday to avoid driving impaired.
