No more Friday night concerts in the park. No more colorful flower baskets donning downtown street lamps. No more free port-a-potties for River City Days.
Those were just a few of the items city staff would propose to cut in order to balance the 2011 budget, in lieu of raising the city tax rate.
Members of the Chaska City Council had their first look at what would be on the chopping block during a work session Monday night. Mayor Mark Windschitl was not in attendance due to illness.
Among the items included on tonight's Chaska City Council agenda is:
* Outlot transfer to the Jonathan Association
** There will also be a work session at 6 p.m. to discuss the general fund budget
Chaska City Council meetings are held the first, third and fifth Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. at Chaska City Hall, One City Hall Plaza.
The Chaska City Council approved a liquor license for Chaska Liquor Monday night. The action paves the way for owner/operator Kevin Do to open his new business as soon as possible.
