In addition to approving a 3.5 percent pay increase for Chaska’s volunteer firefighters, the council approved the department’s 2007 officer election results Monday night.

“I don’t make many motions, but I would like to make this motion,” said Mayor Gary Van Eyll proudly. Van Eyll’s son James Van Eyll was elected as the next fire chief.
