Minnesotan Doug Benson recently proposed the Marriage and Family Protection Act [1] to make marriage a gender-neutral proposition in Minnesota. It was introduced to the Minnesota legislature with 14 House sponsors and 5 Senate supporters. You can read more about it here [2].
