The Social Security Web site recently released the top baby names for 2007, including:

4. Ava

6. Sophia

7. Olivia

10. Elizabeth

According to a Social Security press release, Emily has topped the list since 1996. Jacob has done so since 1999.  Elizabeth returns to the top 10 after a two-year absence.

The Social Security Web site offers lists of baby names for each year since 1880. Social Security started compiling baby name lists in 1997.
