Chaska’s dance team will perform at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the state high kick/precision meet.

The Hawks, performing to the high-energy song “Sha-Zungle,” will dance eighth among the 12 Class 3A teams at the meet, and follow Class 2A team Marshall on the Xcel Energy Center floor.

Eagan gets the unenviable first slot in the 3A rotation, starting at approximately 2:20 p.m., followed by Elk River at 2:30 p.m. Two-time defending champion Eastview dances fourth. Eden Prairie is the fifth Lake Conference school to dance and 11th overall, at approximately 4 p.m.

Class 2A teams alternate between the Class 3A teams in the rotation.

The Hawks are looking for their first state kick title since 1999.

The Class 3A finalists are announced at 5 p.m.

An all-tournament team will also be picked for the first time at this year’s tournament. Twelve students will be chosen from both jazz and high kick. The awards will be presented during the championship award ceremonies, which follow the Class 2A and Class 3A finals, which begin at 7:15 p.m. on both days.
