The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum [1] is seeking artists for its 2008 summer exhibition "Tree-ology."

According to a press release, the exhibit will include interactive public art that provides "a fresh look at the towering wonder and quiet power of trees in today’s world."

Artists interested in entering artwork for the exhibition are asked to attend a mandatory pre-proposal meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. on Nov. 29 in the Oswald Visitor Center’s MacMillan Auditorium. Interested artists should RSVP by Nov. 28 with Thom Dreeze (952) 443-1425 or dreez001@umn.edu [2].  According to the release, only those who attend this meeting may submit an entry.

The deadline for submissions is Jan. 3. Twenty winning designs will be selected on Jan. 17. Each winner will receive a $2,500 stipend toward construction and installation costs. Installation will be scheduled between April 25 and May 16.

The “Tree-ology” exhibition will open May 24 and continue through Oct. 12.
