Everson and Beckrich - Where are they now?

» Read similar stories filed under:

Earlier this year, Grant Everson was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the January 2006 fatal shooting of his mother Nancy Everson. (See Everson Murder Trial for more information).

Not long after, Everson was sent to a correctional facility in St. Cloud where his friend and accomplice Joel Beckrich was already serving his 45-year sentence.

St. Cloud serves as an intake facility for new male offenders. There, inmates are assigned a classification score, usually within 30 to 45 days of admission.  This risk score determines to what custody level the inmate will be assigned.

It seems as though both young men have been assigned their classification score and sent to their permanent correctional facilities.

Beckrich was transferred to Stillwater, a Level 4 facility where inmates are closely monitored. Over 1,300 male felons call the Stillwater prison home.

Everson was sent to Oak Park Heights, the state's only Level 5, maximum security prison. Some 400 inmates are incarcerated at Oak Park Heights.
