The Chaska Area Youth Volleyball Association had 10 teams competing in the final NCR Area Event tournament on April 26-27.
The teams ending their season are the 11-1, 11-2, 11-3, 12-1, 13-2, 13-3, 14-2, 14-3, 16-1 and the 17-1s.
The NCR Area Event also led to medals for the following CAYVA teams: The 11-2s took second in the Gold Division, the 11-2 took first in the Bronze Division, the 13-1s took first place in the Gold Division, the 13-3s were second in the Silver Division, the 14-2s were also second in the Silver Division and the 14-3s were second in the Copper Division.
The CAYVA 18s team continues to have success this season, finishing ninth in the Gold Division at Northern Lites Qualifier on April 19-21.
The team’s ninth-place finish out of 77 teams entered tied the 18s for the highest-finishing Minnesota team in the Club Division and the highest finishing “non-club” team in the 18s Division.
Team members include: Lauren Andrews, Kelsey Busch, Olivia Duenow, Jessica Jerde, Megan Kettler, Makenzie Neische, Shelby Peterson, Amanda Unze, Brittany Wenzel, Marsha Wolf and coach John Yunker.
The CAYVA 13-1 team went 12-0 at the M-1 Tournament at the Mizuno M-1 facility in Minnetonka.
The squad played teams from Waconia, Apple Valley, Mizuno M-1 and Club Extreme, and defeated Lakeville South in the final match. Team members include: Ellie Augustine, Jillian Entinger, Elly Krych, Ashley Entinger, Rachel Schmidt, Sydney Franz, Allie Duenow, Kaity Romine and Anna Herd. Sara Grams and Chuck Zemek coach the squad.

CAYVA 11-2s 1st in Bronze
The CAYVA 11-2 team proudly ended its season taking first in the bronze division at the NCR area event on April 26.

CAYVA 12-1s finish strong
The CAYVA 12-1 team ended its season playing in the NCR Tournament at Ralia Sports Center. It was a great year for CAYVA 12-1, which showed lots of development and growth this season.

CAYVA 13-3s 2nd in Silver
The Chaska 13-3s team ended its season with a bang. The squad ended up taking second in the Silver Division at the NCR Area Event on April 26th, beating out teams from Rosemount, Woodbury, and Minneapolis.

CAYVA 14-2s 2nd in Silver
The CAYVA 14-2 team finished second in the Silver Division at the NCR Tournament. The team compiled a successful season with an overall record of 20-12.

CAYVA 14-1s going strong
The CAYVA 14-1s continue to have a great season. The team has competed in several tournaments this year, and recently tied for third place out of 42 teams at the “Diggin in the Dells” tournament in Wisconsin.
The 14-1s play in two local tournaments, and will travel to Florida for an AAU tournament in Florida in June. Sue Murphy and Sarah Hammers coach the squad.
