The District 112 School Board will spend tonight's (April 24) work session reviewing a parent-inspired suggestion to create a sixth-grade center and two middle schools teaching grades 7 and 8, according to a recent District 112 newsletter.
The current concept uses the existing sixth- through eighth-grade configuration for the three middle schools, for fall 2009.
Parents have made the suggestion in response to recent attendance boundary discussions, the newsletter stated.
The board will discuss the idea during a work session following its regular 6:30 p.m. board meeting at the DEC, 11 Peavey Road, in Chaska. The work session will follow at about 7 p.m.
The board will set aside a portion of the work session to hear from parents regarding the sixth-grade center, the newsletter stated.
