A woman was shot in Watertown on May 1, according to a press release from Carver County Sheriff Bud Olson.

At 6:21 a.m., the Carver County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of a shooting at a residence located in the 13000 block of Hwy 25, north of Watertown in Carver County.

Responding deputies learned that an adult male relative had come to the home early this morning where there was a dispute and struggle over a .22 caliber rifle, the release stated.

At some point the gun discharged and an adult female was struck in the upper arm and lower leg. She was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office sought Ryan Carl Lindeen, 44, address unknown, as a suspect in the incident, the press release stated.

Prior to police arriving, Lindeen had allegedly fled the scene. It was believed that he took a .22 caliber rifle and a handgun with him, the release stated. Lindeen was arrested at about 3:30 p.m., May 1 in Winsted in McLeod County.

“We are grateful for all the assistance received from the media, the public and from our law enforcement partners” stated Olson, in a press release.

The Carver County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
