Congressman John Kline today announced a lottery for constituents who would like tickets to attend the inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama.
According to a Kline office press release, residents of Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional district who wish to be entered into the ticket lottery should call Congressman Kline’s Burnsville office at (952) 808-1213 or Washington, D.C. at (202) 225-2271 not later than 12:00 p.m. CST Wednesday, Nov. 26.
Applicants should be prepared to provide their name, address, e-mail address, and daytime telephone number. Applicants will also be asked whether they are requesting 1, 2, or 4 tickets, and must be prepared to provide the name(s) of all individuals who will be using the tickets.
Individuals who already have provided this information to a member of Kline’s staff have been entered into the lottery and do not need to call again.
Winners will be selected at random in a drawing on Dec. 1. Those who receive tickets will be contacted directly and provided with specific information for retrieving the tickets.
All tickets must be picked up in person – with valid photo identification – from the Washington D.C. office the morning of Monday, Jan. 19. For security reasons, there can be no exceptions to this procedure.
