The incident occurred just before 7 a.m. when an SUV driver westbound on Highway 212 struck and killed a flagger. According to the State Patrol, the flagger was holding a stop sign at the time of the crash. Traffic was diverted for three hours following the incident. Highway 212 was closed from new Co. Rd. 147 north to Co. Rd. 43 until 10 a.m. when Minnesota State Patrol wrapped up their site investigation. But for the trio of Hawk senior captains bound for college programs, there will be some more time at the old ballpark. Brad Hand, Cory Glieden and John Straka were selected to play for the West Metro team in the Lions All-Star Series, set for June 19-21 at Athletic Park.
