Eastview slightly overpowered Chaska 101.5-84.5 in the second Lake Conference girls swimming dual of the season on Thursday.
The Lightning piled up points by winning nine of the 12 events, but the Hawks hung in there with three first-place swims and second-place showings in the rest.
Hawk senior Sam Getty took first place in the 200 individual medley, with a time of 2:17.08. She also finished second in the 100 backstroke with a 1:04.86 race.
Chaska’s Emma Gaulke-Janowski won the 100 freestyle race by 1-1/2 seconds, swimming 56.29.
Hawk swimmer Emily Ellwood followed that race by winning the 500 freestyle in 5:42.78 – less than a second quicker than Eastview’s Madeline Basil.
Megan Knudson took second place in the 100 breaststroke, swimming 1:11.39. Hawk teammate Lauren Johnson was second in the 200 freestyle with 2:06.51, and Gaulke-Janowski swam 26.23 to take a close second place in the 50 free.
Erin Sattervall finished second in the diving competition, compiling 148.40 points, with teammates Emily Stern finishing in third place with 142.20 and Sophia Cone totaling 126.50 for fourth.
Brooke Zhorne swam 1:05.27 in the 100 butterfly to collect second-place points for Chaska.
Three Hawk relay teams swam to second-place finishes. Getty, Knudson, Zhorne and Gaulke-Janowski teamed to swim 1:59.04 in the 200 medley relay; Gaulke-Janowski, Getty, Kacie Ryan and Rachel Bailey swam 1:46.56 in the 200 free relay; and Bailey, Johnson, Michelle Dehnke and Zhorne clocked in at 4:04.74 in the meet finale, the 400 free relay.
Chaska swims in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational on Saturday, and visits Rosemount for a Lake Conference dual on Sept. 11.
