![]() Four Hawks land All-Lake Conference golf honors
May 16, 2008 - 11:23am — HawkEye
In golf, progress often comes slowly. The Chaska boys golf team has had several tournament victories this season, and set a school record for lowest score. But the Hawks had not topped Eden Prairie in a Lake Conference Tournament this season. The Hawks tied Eden Prairie in the fifth and final Lake tournament, Wednesday at Inverwood in Eagan. The Hawks and Eagles each shot 296, but the Hawks finally wrestled away first place on a tiebreaker. Alex Robb and Charlie West led Chaska with their rounds of 72, and Jon DuToit shot 75. Jake Erickson and Grant Notvedt both finished in 77, with John Pavelko carding 78. EP won the season Lake championship, though Chaska had four All-Lake Conference golfers in Robb, West, Erickson and DuToit. The Hawks had their highest score in a Lake Tournament this season on Monday at Valleywood in Apple Valley. Chaska shot 318 for fifth place, led by Erickson’s score of 77. He was the only Hawk not in the 80s: Robb and West shot 80, DuToit had 81 and Pavelko and Notvedt scored 82. Chaska is at the Mounds View Invitational on Friday, playing at the National Youth Center course in Blaine. The Hawks then prepare for the two-day Section 2-3A Tournament at Oakdale Golf Club in Buffalo Lake. The first round is at 1:30 p.m. on May 22, with the second round set for May 27 at 8 a.m.
