Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) is sponsoring a community-wide prayer breakfast on Thursday, May 1 for the National Day of Prayer.

Pastors and lay church leaders, business and civic leaders from throughout our community will gather at 7 a.m. at Westwood Community Church in Chanhassen to eat food, hear music and messages, and pray together, according to a Love INC press release.

Love INC of Eastern Carver County serves the communities of Chaska, Chanhassen, Victoria, Carver, and East Union, helping churches coordinate efforts to reach out to those who are in need of support.

“We would like to invite anyone who cares about building community to come and join us for this exciting event. This is open to anyone from the community. Whether we are Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, Moravian, or any other background, we share a lot of common values, and good things happen when we talk together, listen together, learn together, love together, and pray together,” said Doug Peterson, executive director of the organization.

The Rev. Richard Coleman, Chief Operating Officer of Kingdom Oil Christian Foundation in Minneapolis, will be speaking. “I will share my passion to see the body of Christ unified for the work of God’s kingdom. If we fuse the resources and talents of the business community with churches and charitable organizations, we can transform communities,” Coleman stated.

Many community partners are working together to hold the event. There will be no charge for tickets due to several sponsorships by area businesses including St. Francis Medical Center, Community Banks of Chaska and Chanhassen, and Hazeltine National Golf Club.

The catered breakfast requires tickets even though they are free, and may be picked up at Community Bank in Chanhassen or Chaska, or by calling the Love INC office at (952) 448-2508. Westwood Community Church is located at Highway 41 & West 78th Street in Chanhassen.
