Earth/Arbor Day clean-up on April 26

Carver County Parks will hold an Earth Day and Arbor Day celebration on Saturday April 26, from 10 a.m. to noon at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park, on Highway 41 between highways 5 and 7 in Chanhassen.

Carver County Parks has a morning dedicated to spending time restoring Lake Minnewashta Regional Park to a more natural state. This includes removing trash and dumped items, park beautification projects and an educational presentation a newly planted woodland restoration project.

Additionally, a group will also be working to clean up the off-leash dog area during this same time.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants, sturdy shoes or boots, work gloves.

Lunch will be provided by the park staff around the noon hour for those who participate in the clean-up. If you or a group is interested in volunteering with this event contact the Carver County Parks and register by Thursday April 24 to ensure enough food is available for all those who participate. The City of Chaska will also be holding a Spring Cleanup Day on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Athletic Park. Residents can bring their yard waste including leaves, grass, brush and garden waste for free. No bags and no brush larger than 3 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length.
