Matthew David Allen, 20, of Hopkins, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Allen; father, Rodney Allen; brothers, Chris "Big Daddy" (Molly) DeFoe and James (Kayla Coleman) Allen Sr.; sister, Shanowa Allen; grandparents, Duane and Donna Lane; nephews, Isaak DeFoe and James Allen Jr.; Auntie Ruthie.
Funeral service was Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. with visitation beginning at noon, all at Washburn-McReavy Strobeck Johnson Chapel, 952-938-9020, Hopkins.
Julia T. Poppler
Julia Poppler, 91, of Chaska, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Waconia.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday Oct. 1, at noon at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska with Father Bill Paron as Celebrant of the Mass. Visitation was held two hours prior to the Mass at church. Final resting place is Guardian Angels Catholic Cemetery in Chaska. Casketbearers were granddaughters, Lori Johnson, Sara Ruedy, Sheila Bradley, Mary Jane Lark, Kelly Otto, Anna Poppler, Lindsey Poppler, Joleen Glashan.
Julia was born Oct. 7, 1916 in Bellingham, Minn., the daughter of John and Susan (Schmieg) Kelzer. Julia was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rosen, Minn. On April 2, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ervin J. Poppler in Bellingham. Julia and Ervin lived in Excelsior in their earlier years and then moved to Victoria where they began the family farm. In 1957 they moved to Chaska and farmed until their retirement in 1970. Some of Julia’s favorite things to do were cooking, sewing, gardening, reading and going to the cabin up north.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; grandson, Joey Poppler; great-grandsons, Brandon Lilac and Justin Poppler; father and mother, John and Susan Kelzer; brothers, Clarence, Edward and Herbert; sisters, Helen, Florence and Mildred.
Julia is survived by her loving family, children and their spouses, Fred and Karen Poppler of Chaska, Ron and Kay Poppler of Waseca, Jim and Mary Poppler of Carver, ****** and Bernice Poppler of Belle Plaine, Bernie Poppler of Buffalo, Tom and Tammy Poppler of Wadena, Joanne Poppler of Waconia, Terry and Mary Poppler of Chaska, Steve and Theresa Poppler of Belle Plaine, Ed and Jean Poppler of Carver, Jeff Poppler of Arlington, Judy and Tom Meuffels of Waconia; 35 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Kelzer of Ortonville, Norbert and Barb Kelzer of Ortonville, Donald Kelzer of Bismarck, N.D., Darlene Kelzer of New Prague; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Don Pillatzke of Marietta, Rose Ann Boisser’ee of San Francisco, Calif., Leander Kallhoff of Madison; sister-in-law, Catherine Kohman of Eden Prairie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cindy Rose Miller
Cindy Rose Miller, 51, of Shakopee, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
She was born in Shakopee on July 30, 1957 to Linus N. and Rita B. (Salden) Eiden. She married Mark Miller on June 27, 1974 in Watertown, S.D. Cindy worked in administration for the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, where she was in her 32nd year of employment.
She is survived by husband, Mark Miller; daughter, Nichole and husband Eric Hetletvedt of Victoria; son, Jeremy Miller and Kelly Ramsdell of Goodland; grandchildren, Brady and Macy Hetletvedt, Rylee, Hope, Jordan and Dustin Miller; mother, Rita B. Eiden of Silver Lake; brother, Steven (Chris) Eiden of Carver, brother, Mike (Kim) Eiden of Glencoe; sister, Judy (John) Waldvogel of Cologne; sister, Sue (Mike) Henrich of Winsted; brother, Kevin (Rose) Eiden of Glencoe; sister, Nancy (Karl) Fischer of Hutchinson; brother, Lyle (Becky) Eiden of Lester Prairie; sister, Chris (Rich) Pauly of Glencoe; mother-in-law, Myra Miller of Cologne; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jackie and Jerry Ries of Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Allen and Elaine Miller of Buffalo, Paul and Carol Miller of Cologne, Dan and Vicky Miller of Plymouth, Roy Miller of Brooklyn Center; many other relatives and friends.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Linus N. Eiden; father-in-law, Donald H. Miller; grandparents, Nicholas and Agens Eiden, Hubert and Clarine Salden; brother-in-law, Kendal Zitzloff.
Visitation is Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 2, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at McNearney Funeral Home, 1220 East Third Avenue, Shakopee.
Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shakopee with the Rev. Peter Wittman officiating. Pallbearers include Steven, Mike, Kevin, and Lyle Eiden, Judy Waldvogel, Sue Henrich, Nancy Fisher, Chris Pauly. Interment at Catholic Cemetery, Shakopee.
