Kenneth Henry Ebert
Kenneth Ebert, 55, of Shakopee, died Monday, May 26, 2008 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Shakopee.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 29, at 10 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 218 West Second Street, Chaska, with Father Mark Rehmann of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Shakopee, celebrating. Casketbearers will be Mike Schmidt, Bill Dahl, Duane Schmidt Jr., Mike Craighead, Scott Brose, Tim Heitz, Chuck Van Sloun, and Duane Ebert. Burial will be at Guardian Angels Catholic Cemetery, Chaska.
Ken was born Jan. 10, 1953 in Shakopee to Frank and Pauline (Meyer) Ebert, the youngest of 11 children. He was baptized and confirmed at Guardian Angels Catholic Church. He attended school at Guardian Angels Catholic Parochial School and Chaska Public School. On Sept. 6, 1996, Ken married Patricia Dahl in Shakopee. Ken served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and attained Green Beret status. He was a member of the Chaska V.F.W. Ken was a master craftsman and loved being a carpenter. He was self-employed for 10 years and operated the Wooden Frame Shop in Chaska. He also worked for Warner Building of Waconia for four years and worked at Rosemount, Valleyfair, and the Renaissance Festival prior to that.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pauline; brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Marion; brothers-in-law, Giles Van Sloun, Herb Fenske, Bob Stadem, and Gary Guynn.
Survivors include his wife, Patty; daughters, Aria (Brian) Hoen of Plato, Nina (Mike) Schmidt of Green Isle; step-children, Jamie Dahl of Plato, Jesse Samskar of Afghanistan, Joanne Prater of Vernon, Ala.; grandchildren, Brandon Hoen, Camron Meyer, Allison Hoen, Desirae Dahl, Brooke Schmidt, Austin Schmidt, Amber Schmidt, and Cody Schmidt; brothers, Gerald (Linda) Ebert of Chaska, Floyd (Heidi) Ebert of Missouri; sisters, Clarice Van Sloun of Chaska, Rosann Fenske of Randall, Eileen Jeurissen of Shakopee, Irma (Dave) Regan of Apple Valley, Yvonne Stadem of Plato, Karen (Curt) Beckman of Las Vegas, Denise Guynn of Port Richey, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were with the Bertas Funeral Home of Chaska, 952-448-2137.
Marion H. Deis
Marion Deis, 78, of Chaska, died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Shakopee.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, May 28, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carver, with the Rev. Holger Sonntag officiating. Casketbearers were Jeff Lenzen, Steve Kloos, Mike Kloos, Danny Kloos, Peter Lenzen, Joe Drew. Honorary casketbearers were Ron Stevens, John Schlegelmilch and Andy Lenzen. Burial was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the St. Francis Foundation, 1455 St. Francis Avenue, Shakopee, Minn. 55379.
Marion was born June 11, 1929 in Carver to Ernest and Anna (Buckentine) Lenzen. Marion was one of ten children. She graduated from Chaska High School in 1947 and went on to college at St. Cloud State University. On Nov. 12, 1960, Marion married Elmer Deis at Carver Trinity Lutheran Church. They had three children. Marion loved working with children at the Early Education Center (EEC) in Chaska.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Anna Lenzen; sisters, Lillian Stacy and Ann Schlegelmilch and first husband, John Kloos Jr.
She is survived by husband of 47 years, Elmer; children, Mary Jean (Dale) Luedloff of Carver, Nancy (Russ) Adams of Valparaiso, Ind., Richard Deis of Chaska; grandchildren, Jodi, Shannon, Ashley, Courtney, Matthew; great-grandson, Kendall. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Alvina Petroske of Chaska, Ernie (Jerry) Lenzen of St Louis Park, Joanne (Don) Drew of Aitkin, Eleanor Stauffeneker of Foley, Donna (Delmar) Kloos of Chaska, Donald (Carol) Lenzen of Tonka Bay, John (Ruth) Lenzen of Chaska; sister-in-law, Jan Lenzen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
