The city of Carver is seeking public comment on its future plans for 164 acres of Dahlgren Township, adjacent to Carver, along Highway 212.
The public can view the plans for the “Carver Freeway Commercial District Study Area” at Carver City Hall, 316 Broadway; at the Chaska Public Library, along West Fourth Street in downtown Chaska; or here.
The comment period is Nov. 2 to Dec. 2.The “Alternative Urban Areawide Review” assesses potential environmental impacts of two development scenarios:
Scenario 1: Consistent with the adopted Carver County 2020 Comprehensive Plan in which three farmsteads/rural residences would remain and two more would be added. The primary land use would remain agricultural, with some areas of undeveloped woodland.
Scenario 2: Consistent with the adopted city of Carver 2030 Comprehensive Plan, should the AUAR area be annexed to the city. Under this scenario, the AUAR area would be converted to commercial land use, with approximately 920,000 sq ft of development. Comments can be sent to City Planner Cindy Nash at Collaborative Planning, LLC, PO Box 251, Medina, MN 55340; fax: (763) 473-0659; or e-mail c.planning@mchsi.com.
