Nancy's Landing to reopen as Lola's Lakehouse in Mid-May
April 14, 2008 - 11:08am — Mark Olson
Dermot Cowley, renowned Minneapolis restaurateur and owner of Jake O’Connor’s Public House in Excelsior and O’Donovans in Minneapolis, recently purchased Nancy’s Landing restaurant in Waconia. Cowley purchased the lakeside restaurant on Lake Waconia with plans to renovate and reopen it as Lola’s Lakehouse in mid-May, according to a press release. Lola’s Lakehouse menu will feature American fare with a New England influence. The restaurant is being completely renovated and will feature a full bar area, lakeside dining on the deck and a seating capacity of 220 inside and an additional 100 people on the deck. The restaurant will open with dinner service seven days a week with plans for lunch and brunch at a later date. Lola’s Lakehouse will be one of the few restaurants in the Twin Cities area to be located on lakefront property, the release stated. In the summer season, docks on the lake will make it possible for Lake Waconia boaters to dock and enjoy a meal in the restaurant or on the open-air deck overlooking the lake. The marina will also feature boat slips for seasonal rental. For more information visit Lola's Web site or call (952) 908-9605.

So, I was excited to hear that Dermot Cowley (a Watertown resident) is opening a new restaurant at the site.
The service and food have always been great at Cowley's Irish-themed restaurant Jake O'Connor's in Excelsior, so I have high expectations for his new Waconia business.

Back to page topLooks promising. I like the mermaid logo. Hopefully, this restaurant can make a go of it in Waconia. With a great lakeside location and quick highway access (once 212 opens all the way) it should be a nice draw for Twin Cities daytrippers.
