Watch out Gedney Pickle Man.
There’s another classic advertising icon in town, with a few tricks up his proverbial sleeve. He’s pink, he can float on air and he makes bath time fun.
That’s right. Mr. Bubble has come to Chaska.
“We just acquired the Mr. Bubble brand,” announced Jessica Parr, marketing manager for The Village Company in Chaska.
In August, The Village Company struck a $4.8 million deal to bring Mr. Bubble to Minnesota after its former owner, Ascendia Brands of New Jersey, filed for reorganization. The deal was finalized in early October.
“We just started production last week,” said Parr. “So now Mr. Bubble is officially a Minnesotan.”
Mr. Bubble’s famous bubble bath joins The Village Company’s existing line of bath products, including their Village Naturals line and their Sesame Street line.
Parr said that they have spent years chasing after the top-selling Mr. Bubble brand. “Mr. Bubble was always a cloud hanging over us,” she said. “This really secures us as a top supplier of bubble bath in the U.S.”
Parr said the acquisition of Mr. Bubble brought a “huge level of excitement” to the company. “We all worked so hard on this acquisition,” she said. “It all came together and we couldn’t be happier.
“We’re very proud to be the number one supplier of bubble bath in America,” she added.
The Village Company, with its 11 employees, has been in Chaska’s industrial park since 2005. The company contracts with Apex International, just across the street in Chaska, for its bubble-bath manufacturing.
