On June 20, the Cenex Mid County Coop at 409 Paul Street in Cologne is cutting the price of E85 by 40 cents from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
There is a 25 gallon limit per customer for the discount pricing, according to a press release.
E85 is an ethanol-based fuel that can be used in flex-fuel vehicles.
It is a “much cleaner-burning fuel than gasoline, according to the American Lung Association of Minnesota, one of the sponsors of the promotion, along with Cenex and the Carver County Corn Growers Association,” the release stated.
To see if your vehicle is one of the estimated 200,000 in Minnesota that can use E85, visit www.CleanAirChoice.org. The station promotions are being supported by Cenex, the Carver County Corn Growers Association, Minnesota Corn Growers Association, General Motors Corporation, National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition, US Department of Energy Clean Cities, American Lung Association of Minnesota and the Minnesota Clean Air Choice Team.
