Best Buy hosts electronics recycling drive

Best Buy is hosting a “Twin Cities Electronics Recycling Event” this weekend, where they will take many types of electronics equipment for free.

The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7.

The event is at the Best By corporate campus, 7601 Penn Avenue South in Richfield. 

Items accepted for recycling at no charge

Televisions, including console TVs

VCRs

Computer monitors and CPUsPhones

Cellular phones/PDAs/pagers

Inkjet/printer cartridges

Keyboards/mice

Rechargeable batteries

Scanners, printers and fax machines

Stereo equipment 

Items not accepted

Microwaves

Smoke detectors

Air conditioners

Household appliances

dehumidifiers

The Carver County Environmental Center in Chaska accepts some of these items, but there is a $5 charge for things like TVs and computer monitors. (See what you can drop off locally here.)
