The Minnesota Renaissance Festival holds auditions for its 2009 season at Mall of America on May 31 from noon to 5 p.m. in Sears Court.

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival is casting for musicians, ensembles, street performers, dancers, stage combat performers and actors, according to a Renaissance Festival press release.

Participants need not have performance experience, but must provide their own music or monologue. Participants interested in becoming a costumed street performer/character will be interviewed, and if accepted, will be invited to participate in the Minnesota Renaissance Festival Performance Workshop, and will learn the craft of interactive street performance.

The Minnesota Renaissance Festival's thirty-ninth season begins on Saturday, August 22 and ends on Oct. 4, 2009.

The Festival is open weekends, Labor Day and a special day for schools and seniors on Festival Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 open from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., rain or shine.
