The Jonathan Association office should have the names of the current candidates. You could try calling the office and see if they will release the names. Otherwise, Tom Kerber is on the nominating committee which oversees the elections and he would be receiving the applications. You could try to contact him through the office or via the Association's Web site.

There are only three that I know of, Jacqueline Bensman, Maria Awes and Myself. In the article that was on the front page of the Herald (print version) they had stated only 2 candidates had submitted applications/statements. I believe that Jacqueline's was submitted right after the article had been written. If you are a member of the PBJ all three of the statements had been emailed to the group. According to the postcard from the association, that was mailed to all Jonathan residents, the candidates list will be finalized at the annual meeting. Then on the 23rd each candidates statement is final.(?) On Feb 27th the election ballots and candidates information will be mailed to the Homeowners.

If you visit the Association website the new election rules are posted. I believe there are 8 pages. It has changed at least 3 times since they posted it originally. I can't believe that they have spent so much time and money (legal fees) to change the election procedures that have work just fine for about 40 years. They worked fine for them when they were elected, so why the change now?

Hello,

I believe that there are three candidates who have filed to run so far, although there could be several more candidates who might be nominated from the floor at the Annual Meeting on February 20th. I urge people to consider running for a seat on the Jonathan Board of Directors. While it is true that it can sometimes seem to be a time-consuming, frustrating, and thankless job - it is also very important to have people who are willing to step forward and give of their time. I am hopeful that we will have a strong voter turn-out for the election this year. PLEASE VOTE - it is VERY important!

Remember: you will have an opportunity to hear from the various candidates at the Annual Meeting on February 20th at 6:30 pm in the Chaska City Hall.

Katie,

Maria has been a wonderful asset to our group of homeowners that want to take the Association in a forward direction. Besides myself, she is the only other candidate that has filed for the open board positions that I'm aware of.

As of right now some of the apartment owners are as fed up with the current board as most of the homeowners. As a homeowner we own a percentage of all common property in the association. Apartment owners own a far greater share of those assets, as compared to a homeowner, and they do not like to see their investment fall into such disrepair. This effects the rent-ability of their apartments and has a negative affect on their property value as well.

Having read the poster more closely, it appears that the "filing deadline" isn't until the Annual Meeting on February 20th.

We need to get some great candidates on the ballot! Maria Awes is already there, but we need more people who are willing to work to save Jonathan.

As far as I know there aren't any other candidates, or at least none that are willing to go door to door seeking our input. The only people the current board is willing to work for are the apartment owners and not the actual residents of Jonathan. So, why go door to door?
If there are other candidates out there, we would love to hear from you before the annual meeting so we can make an informed decision.
