These are destined to be another taxpayer-funded collector's item. The idea that people, strapped down with the "modern conveniences" such as a cell phone, iPod, PDA, laptop computer and a debit card have any space left for a weighty metal coin worth a lousy buck. Remember that a dollar is the new nickel and I am sure I'm not alone being a person that rarely even carries cash.

No it won't convince me to start carrying dollar coins,but it will gain one collector, my wife.
