There is a rock version of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" that David Cook could pounce on. Strangely, Sinead O'Conner also does a pretty good rendition of the song (she does it straight which is the biggest shock for me.)

I don't want to hear Syesha

I don't want to hear Syesha singing "Don't Cry for Me," that's for sure. But, my guess is, that will be her pick.

I love most everything from "Phantom," though some might be difficult as a solo.

My sister thinks they chose this genre specifically to cater to David Archuleta but I'm not so sure show tunes are anyone's friend in this kind of competition.

Well, I got the bottom three dead on -- just didn't get rid of my least favorite, Syesha.

I didn't hate KLC throughout the competition and she was no Haley Scarnato (as one unnamed fiance categorized her). Plus, even though I would rather have seen Amanda tour with the top 10, KLC did finish one better than Haley, leaving the show at #7 so she had to bring something to the table.

Who's gonna bet that she gets her horse back now?

New feature: We're counting how many times Paula uses the word "great" in her critiques of the Idol contestants. It's amusing to say the least (it's not like anyone is really paying attention to what she's saying). Last night she was 5 for 7.

If I had a favorite -- or at least a most-known -- Mariah song, it would be "Hero" and I didn't like the Brooke version of it -- too slow and pained.

I very much enjoyed Jason's performance -- but I'm wondering why the judges haven't said anything about his facial expressions as they have to previous contestants.

I definitely agree with Simon -- the guys stole the show!

My pick for bottom three are Brooke, Syesha and Kristy; my sister has Carly in Syesha's place. Neither of us predicted last week so who knows what will happen tonight...

Can we also talk about how orange M.C.'s face was last night? It seemed to set off the mismatched blacks of her top and high-waisted pants. Yikes!

I love that the judges are

I love that the judges are always telling the contestants not to sing Whitney/Mariah/Celine, and then the producers go and set up Mariah night. Genius.

I had no idea I was such an MC fan (at least classic MC) until some of my faves were rolled out tonight.

I knew someone would pick Vanishing (my all-time #1 MC fave), I just pictured Brooke instead. But to Syesha's performance I must say, in the words of my 18-month-old daughter, "No, no, no, no, no." She took a beautiful, simple song (as simple as an MC song can be) and just oversang it. She's much too dramatic for me. In the past few weeks her inner diva has peeked out, and I'm not sure she's ready to fill any diva shoes just yet.

I'm not a big Hero fan, but I thought Brooke did it justice with her own twist. I do wish she had more confidence in herself. When the camera was on close-up, especially during the latter part of the song, it looked like her whole body was shaking. Poor thing. You're doing just fine.

As usual, I really enjoyed David C.'s performance. I was anxiously awaiting his turn to see what song he would pick and how he would do it. Scary though--ABMB turns into a bit of a stalker song when sung by a rocker dude.

Why does Jason always look like he is in pain when he sings? This is really an issue for me.

What I would have given to have been a fly on the wall when producers told the contestants they would be tackling songs from the Mariah Carey catalog. Did they have to get out the smelling salts? Bring in a fainting couch? Oxygen? Talk about a daunting task - especially for the guys.
