Breaking Idol news! According to the Ryan Seacrest show on KIIS FM, producers for American Idol have finally got the go-ahead for the contestants to sing Beatles songs. The floodgates have opened at last! Producer Nigel Lythgoe said the theme show will take place when they have narrowed the contestant roster down to the top 12.

I was afraid of this.

First there was 60s night. Now its 70s night. Dear lord, will we really be subjected to 80s night next week??? Well, at least most of the contestants were born in that decade so song choice should be much improved.
