So long Garrett Haley (again, no surprise) and Colton Berry. Those are two youngsters that won't be following in Sanjaya's footsteps.

I didn't get to see all of

I didn't get to see all of the male performances, so I'll stick to the ones I saw.

David Hernandez--I thought it was a good start for the show. He seemed a bit shaky, but I'd like to see him stick around to see what he's got.

Chikeze--I actually liked his voice (not necessarily the performance), but I wasn't fond of his attitude with Simon. Why don't people learn to sit there and be humble, even if you're not? "America" doesn't like it when you fight with the Simon (usually).

Robbie Corrico--I liked his perfomance, and I liked that he didn't try to hide from his boy/girl band past!

David Archuleta--Why do we all love this guy? I kept having flashes of Kevin Covais (aka Chicken Little) when he was performing. I don't like his voice, but he seems like a nice enough kid. Apparently I missed the "We love David" bandwagon.

Luke Menard--Boring, but he's another one I hope sticks around so he can redeem himself.

Colton Barry--Ack. Yuck. Go home. Blech.

Garrett Haley--Yikes. Bless your junior high 'stache, Garrett, but I think you're going home.

Question: Why does a show accused of growing stale kick off its actual competition with a 60s night theme? Hard to prove fresh and relevant in that case.

Well, we're off and running and for the most part, the guys failed to knock my socks off. What did you think?
