And also because of the GLADiolous ... the tribute flower for which Glad Days is named. I'm no floral expert, but I believe the glads are in near full bloom - typically - in late July. Any master gardeners know more about gladiolus?

It was moved a couple of years to avoid conflict with the Scott-Carver Theshers Festival ... which involves many of the same greater Cologne community volunteers, participants and businesses. Only so many weekends each summer to squeeze in so many great festivals!

Why is Cologne's festival always the same weekened as Chaska's River City Days? I always miss it.

I'm also disappointed that Kolacky Days is this weekend. For those who haven't been to Kolacky Days, it's worth the drive to Montgomery. The celebration celebrates all that is great about Czechoslovakian heritage - complete with a Kolacky bake-off.
