The Gnomemobile- I love it!!! "The gnomemobile, the gnomemobile, sooner or later we feel that we'll find where we roam in the gnomemobile - riding along in the gnomemobile." You just can't shake great lyrics like that. And all those little gnomes, too!

How can you not mention

How can you not mention "Darby O'Gill and the Little People"? It's arguably one of the best leprechaun movies ever made. It also includes Sean Connery (pre-Bond, I think).

By the way, the fakey scene with the miniature Captain Jack Sparrows shows that even with an insane budget, "small people" technology hasn't come a long way since the years of "Darby O'Gill," "Fantastic Voyage," or "I Dream of Jeannie."

"Pirates" was too

"Pirates" was too long. That's what happens in sequels; directors overdevelop minor characters.

They should have spent more screen time on Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, and less on the deck hands with icky teeth.

(Swann is a lady turned pirate, so that explains her dental care. Will was a blacksmith apprentice, so they must have better hygiene than pirates, too.)

Although I was let down, I still love Disney films.

Another less-popular favorite: "The Gnome-Mobile" circa 1967. With the two kids from "Mary Poppins" and Walter Brennan starring as a Gnome named Knobby, it's adorable.

Even from the third row, in a full theater, I loved it.

How can you not love Pirates? Every scene is full from corner to corner with detail. Characters are stuffed in and pirate lore is exploited at every chance.

It is overload? Sure. Difficult for the casual viewer to take in with one viewing? Definitely.

I've watched the first Pirates more times than I care to admit but I still notice new elements with each viewing. That's what makes it so fun.

Now here's another question. Will there be a fourth one???

I went to "Pirates of the Caribbean" last night. So far, I've gone to all of the Pirate movies at the theater.
