And then there were seven. So last night we said goodbye to Gina Glocksen. It wasn't a huge surprise given her faltering fan base combined with the horror that is "standards" night to a rocker gal.
Should she have gone home before Haley or Sanjaya? No way, but off she goes anyway. There should be few surprises left as we approach the final four - only the order of their impending departures. Haley, Phil, Chris and even Sanjaya will be the next Idols to go. Any of them will have to pull a rabbit out of their hats to make the final four or hope that Blake, Lakisha, Melinda or Jordin falls flat on their face one of these nights. It's not likely to happen.
On a related note, Michael Buble was great, if not a bit cocky. He's no Tony Bennett but he certainly showed a finesse with the Great American Songbook.
No word on next week's theme yet but here's some food for thought: Has Idol lost some of its magic this year? Is this the beginning of the end? Share your thoughts.
