Two hours. I sat through two hours of that dribble only to see.... NO ONE get kicked off. Cheap! Cheap!
I can honestly say that I will have no problem waiting until Idol's next telethon. It's great they raised money and awareness that there are a lot of problems in this world (duh), but perhaps they should stick to what they do best - producing the top reality television program. Leave the fundraising up to the pros.
If I have to pick a highlight from the evening, I'm going with Ellen Degeneres who not only gave $100,000 of her own money (I knew I always liked her) but challenged her rich friends to do the same. That's how it's done.
As for that lame ending, you not only scared the bejesus out of Jordin (how could she be sent home so soon?) but left the rest of us very, VERY unsatisfied. Let's get back to business next week, guys.
P.S. The next time you want to devote your attention to a cause, go the extra mile to educate your target audience. Africa is a vast continent. While some people live very poorly, others live very well. Focus your attention on one specific area (malaria vaccination, AIDS education, malnurishment) and see that your money does some good in an area that really needs it. Let the people know exactly where their money is going.

For a moment at the end, I...
Back to page topFor a moment at the end, I had flashbacks of last season: "Chris, a lot of people thought you could win this competition... Chris, you're going home."
Thankfully that wasn't the case, but I'm in agreement that it was a cheap way to hold us through to the end. Chris Richardson was all set to go home too (microphone in hand at the end to sing his final song).
Next week should be interesting with two people gone - they can probably expect a lot of votes to make sure someone doesn't go home too early.
I applaud AI for knowing it...
Back to page topI applaud AI for knowing it has an amazingly vast viewership and a huge opportunity to do good in this world. But I also agree that they should be less A.D.D. about it--Africa, New Orleans, Kentucky, and L.A.??--and focus a little. Let's hope that all the money they raised finds its way to where its supposed to be.
I'm tired of seeing Earth, Wind, and Fire and Rascal Flatts on every big AI event. Just stop. Kelly Clarkson was great, and she looks amazing again! Annie Lennox was fantastic. But how disappointed am I that Ryan mentions Bono at the very beginning of the show on Tuesday, and we only get him for a few minutes at the end of the show on Wednesday. And not even singing. Boo to that tease.
And I'm sorely disappointed no one got voted off during the love fest. I was a little disturbed by my normally nice self when I realized I was obscenely giddy thinking Jordin was going home. It's time for that kind of shake up!
Can't wait to see who goes home next week! Any idea of next week's theme?

Back to page topAnd what about the creepy Celine Dion/Elvis duet?? How about taking the money it took to produce that and using it for a better cause??
