Last year I went to Excelsior which was good except for the drunken teenagers. At least you could see several fireworks displays at once. The year before I went to Lake Ann in Chanhassen. That was also good except for the tree directly in my line of sight. They had their set to music though which was a great touch.

I'm fairly new to the area and am wondering if Chaska has fireworks, and if so, where? I'd like to bike there if possible. I really don't care about ancillary events, just the shooters.

Fireworks for Chaska's Fourth of July celebration will be held over Jonathan Lake (or Upper Lake Grace), beginning at dusk.

The best place to watch the show is the hill overlooking the lake, just to the west of Jonathan Elementary School near McKnight Park.

Show up early. Since they moved the fireworks from the southerly lake a couple years ago, the crowds have been growing bigger at the new site.

Bring bug spray. Mosquitoes have been fierce in the past. (Not "fierce" in the Tyra Banks sort of vocabulary.)

From Chaska you can see the fireworks displays of several nearby communities, in addition to our own over Lake Grace.
